Model Context Protocol (MCP)(Model Context Protocol)

The Model Context Protocol (MCP), proposed by Anthropic in late 2024, is a standardized connectivity protocol between AI agents and external systems (ERP, databases, SaaS, tools). When both AI models and tools conform to MCP, swapping agents or adding tools becomes a plug-in operation.

In November 2025, MCP unanimously won the Grand Prix at the IT Infrastructure Technology AWARD 2026, cementing its position as the industry standard. Adoption is spreading on both sides: major models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) and SaaS platforms (freee, Notion, Slack, and others).
