AI Commercialization refers to the process of translating AI research and model development into products and services that generate sustainable revenue in enterprise markets. It extends well beyond API access to encompass workflow integration support, SLA design, enterprise contract structures, and the full range of business functions absent from the research phase.

In 2025–2026, leading AI labs including Anthropic and OpenAI adopted a joint-venture model that converts PE/VC investment networks into distribution channels — a signal that the field has entered a phase where distribution and integration capability, not technical maturity, is the bottleneck.

The incorporation of the Forward-Deployed Engineer model — pioneered by Palantir in government and defense — into Enterprise AI deployments is a defining pattern of this commercialization wave.
